Representations of Self
The identity of a person rests on impressions. When you meet someone, you begin to learn who they are. Physicality and behaviour forms part of what you understand about the people around you. But who people really are is often deeper and more hidden. A person builds up their personality in relation to what they like, the events that have marked or hurt them. When getting to know someone, there are no directions or a guide to follow. This series of photographs explores outward representations of self, and who they really are “inside themselves”.
